Announcement – We will have worship services indoors this Sunday (November 8) at 8:45, 11:00, and Life Classes. We will also have the 11:00 worship service online.
We are strongly encouraging everyone to wear a mask as they enter the church building. Once you have arrived at your seat in the Worship Center you can remove your mask if you choose to do so. We are also asking everyone to wear their mask as they leave the church building. Please work with us in this effort to make our church a safe and inviting place for worship.
Allow me (Pastor Matt) to share with you my heart on this matter. I understand why so many people see wearing a mask as a political issue, however, I want to encourage us to see wearing a mask from a theological perspective. Without wanting to sound too preachy – Wearing a mask is an opportunity to put others above ourselves. As followers of Jesus Christ we must remember that Jesus’ entire life was focused on others. Jesus taught us the importance of loving others and to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If wearing a mask helps others feel safe and encourages others to come to worship, then I want to wear a mask. I want to create an environment where people feel safe and welcomed into the Church. My heart is to practice the Body of Christ during these strange days and wearing a mask is only one small way I can practice being the Body of Christ. Please know my heart and the heart of the church leadership on this matter. We simply want to protect our people, and for people to feel invited and feel that our church is a safe place for them to come and worship God. Please keep us in your prayers as we seek to please God in our decisions during these strange days.
